The Beansheaf Hotel is perfectly situated on the A169 about half way between Pickering and Malton. The A169 travels between the fishing port of Whitby through Pickering passing over the A64 to Malton.

From Pickering: (Approximately 2.5 miles) Follow A169 sign-posted to Malton. See hotel on right, near junction for Flamingo Land.
From Malton: (Approximately 3 miles) From A64 junction with A169 follows signs for Pickering and Whitby. See hotel on left near junction for Flamingo Land.
From York: (Approximately 20 miles) Leave York following road signs for Scarborough A64. Follow the A64 for approximately 16 miles. Exit at signposts for Pickering, Malton and Eden Camp. At roundabout take first exit A169, hotel is on left approximately 4 miles.
From Whitby: (Approximately 23 miles) At Whitby train station keeping station on your left, turn left at the roundabout, follow this road to a mini roundabout, take first exit... sign-post reads Teesside A171 and Pickering A169. Follow this road until arriving at a set of traffic lights, turn right at the lights. Follow this road to a roundabout where you carry straight on, 2nd exit. Keep on this road to the next roundabout where you turn left on the A169 to Pickering.
From Leeds Bradford Airport: (Approximately 53 miles) Directions: From the airport terminal drive to the roundabout and turn right on the A658 toward Pool, follow signs for Harrogate or York. At York ring road A1237 turn left sign-posted Scarborough. At the A64 follow signs for Scarborough - see directions from York listed above.

From Hull Ferry Terminal: (Approximately 51 miles). There are three of four routes which can be taken from Hull ferry terminal to The Beansheaf Hotel. The most direct and scenic route is though Beverley then toward Driffield, then Malton etc. However, Hull is a large city and not the best sign-posted place. Most people will be better off following the sign-posts for York A1079, then when the A1079 crosses the A64 at York, follow signs for Scarborough... see directions from York above. Hot Tip: If you are travelling from Malton on the 840 bus, ask the driver when you get on to drop you near The Beansheaf Hotel, before heading to Flamingo Land, this will save you a few minutes and a couple of miles... unless of course you want to enjoy the ride.
